When Joel Iriarte steps into the ring, the outcome often feels inevitable. Known for his power, the Bakersfield native has made a name for himself as one of boxing’s most exciting prospects, leaving fans and opponents alike on notice.

Most recently, Iriarte scored a sixth-round knockout over Los Angeles’ Rock Myrthil in his third Honda Center appearance, ending an eight-round welterweight bout in emphatic fashion. Prior to that, he dominated Mexico’s Eduardo Hernandez at Fantasy Springs Casino, dropping him in the first round and finishing him in the third with a punishing body shot and overhand left to the temple – a signature move he’s grown increasingly comfortable with.

In April 2025, Iriarte captured the WBA Continental Gold Welterweight Title in his first eight-round contest, ending the bout in just one round with a decisive shot to the temple. Since his professional debut in March 2024 under the Golden Boy Promotions banner, he has stopped nine of his ten opponents by knockout, showcasing a relentless drive and devastating finishing ability.

Before turning professional, Iriarte built an impressive amateur career, representing Team USA from 2018 to 2021 and earning 17 national championships and three Gold medals. Beyond the ring, he opened Warmup Athletics in Bakersfield, a gym that empowers youth and offers specialized programs for children with developmental disabilities.
