Jorge Chavez is the true definition of a Mexican warrior inside the ring.

“El Niño Dorado” showed grit and determination in a thrilling, action-packed battle against Jose “Tito” Sanchez on the David Benavidez vs. Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez PPV undercard. Early on, Chavez showcased his ring IQ, effectively boxing and moving around Sanchez, but the momentum shifted in the middle rounds as Sanchez began to land more consistently. Despite showing tremendous heart and repeatedly getting back up to continue fighting, Chavez ultimately came up short, with Sanchez securing a TKO victory in the final round just before the closing bell.

Chavez entered the bout coming off a definitive victory over Manuel Flores in their highly anticipated rematch at Acrisure Arena. After fighting to a majority draw in their first meeting, Chavez returned to hostile territory in Coachella Valley and left no doubt the second time around, earning a hard-fought win after 20 combined rounds between the two. Originally from Tijuana and now based in San Diego, Chavez has quickly risen as one of Golden Boy Promotions’ brightest prospects. He turned professional in November 2021 and secured his promotional deal in 2023 after building early momentum in the paid ranks.
